It's almost Dog Walk time! Keep these facts in mind to make registration and the Big Day go smoothly:
- Pre-register online – it's fast and easy.
- Pick up your gift bag and t-shirt at Petco – avoid the lines.
- Sign up for microchipping online – about the size of a grain for rice, this device carries permanent info on your dog's home.
- Takes only 60 seconds to inject
- Can be read by scanners used by nearly all vets and shelters
- Bring your microchip form with you to the dog walk to avoid the lines
- You'll get the form in your email confirmation
- Microchipping will be AFTER the dog walk only
- Water stops – there are 3 along the route with water for dogs and their people
- Poop bags – there's one in your gift bag. Bring and use! We'll have trash boxes for them
- Wear your numbered bib at the walk
- Sign your tear strip at the bottom of the bib – The Guinness Book of World Records requires signatures!
- At the finish line – pull off the tear strip and give to a volunteer - we count these to get our total for Guinness.
- Get your dog's gold medal at the Finish Line!
You get:

Hearing Dog “Patty” to Learn Baby’s Cry Alert for Expecting Mom
Article by Caroline Wright

Nicole Bloxom received her Hearing Dog Patty nine years ago when she lived in San Antonio. Since then, she married, moved with her new Air Force husband to Washington, D.C. and continued her career as an occupational therapist.

Adopt a THSD Career Change Dog
We NEVER return a dog to a shelter that euthanizes, so the dogs who, for whatever reason, are not suitable for a career with THSD are now available for you to meet and adopt.
Thanks to your great response, we recently adopted Meli, Apollo, Rio and Oso.
Ace, featured above, is one of our available pet adoption dogs.
