In this edition, we’re pleased to profile Ann Kime, one
of our local GOTR program coaches who is making a difference in
the lives of pre-teen girls by encouraging them to develop self-respect
and healthy lifestyles through running. If Ann’s story inspires
you, please consider any of our volunteer opportunities. If you
think someone you know may be interested in this newsletter, please
forward it. Together we can make a difference!

“Last winter when I read an article about GOTR, I knew immediately that I had to be a part of it. I’ve run since I was 12 and know that it has added so much to my life and I wanted to pass that same positive opportunity on to other young girls. GOTR not only develops the girls’ ability to run but also promotes self confidence, self esteem, positive choices and other healthy habits that can truly benefit them for a life time.” |

Many of us do a great job complimenting others, but rarely compliment
ourselves. Take an inventory of the things you say about yourself
– are you being encouraging and positive? Would you say these
same things to your friends and family? The image we have of ourselves
portrays a lot to others, including our kids. Positive thoughts
not only improve our daily mood, but research has shown that they
can help us live longer and healthier lives. Start enjoying the
benefits today – think positive!
